Why Film in HD?
One of the questions that we are frequently asked, is why is filming my wedding/event in high definition important?
Many people have upgraded to flat screen HD televisions in recent years, and are almost ready for the full HD experience. If you have one of these newer TVs, I am sure that you can tell when you are watching an event or show in HD: it almost feels like it is too life like. That is exactly what you wedding will look like in HD- in fact we use much of the same equipment that is used to make the HD that you may watch today on broadcast television. While cable offers broadcast and stations in HD, players which allow playing movies independently, are still in the early adaptor stage. Some would argue that with the recent fall of Blu-Ray player prices over the last holiday, that 2009 will be the year that HD makes it into every one’s living room.
Filming in FULL HD allows you to have the highest quality source video. All of our video is captured on professional grade cameras, giving your event a film like quality. All of our editing is done in HD, which allows us to decide at the end how it will be presented. All of the master tape footage that is given at the end is recorded in full HD. We can deliver it as a HD movie file that you can store and play on most modern computers. We can burn it onto a disc that will play in a high definition Blu-Ray player- and we can also burn it as a standard DVD. Standard DVDs will still look great, and can be played an any player, they just won’t be in HD. While you can film in HD and down-convert to a standard image, you can never film in standard non-HD, and up-convert it to HD. In fact, a non HD recording will seem very outdated in a few years as technology advances and HD becomes common place.
We would be happy to answer any questions that you may still have over the benefits of HD. It is the best quality, and will preserve your memory in the highest quality available today. Please call or email us if you would like to further discuss why HD just makes the most sense for important events on film.
